My daughter has been lonely for a few weeks now because she lost her favorite uke on the subway. She tried to trace her steps but couldn't find it anymore. Also, no one returned a lost ukelele in the lost and found office. I want to help her so she can come back to normal. I offered to buy her a new one but she has sentimental values for the lost uke. I'm running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

Have you contacted the police and made a report for a stolen instrument?   I don't know that it would do any good, but at least you'd have a record of the loss.  Other than that, how about checking all the pawn shops around the area.  Maybe someone took it and decided to sell it for whatever they could get.  Other than that, it may end up as someone's Christmas present.

Well ... It's time to start trying to find an exact , make model year if known with a locater chip installed, replacement. Ebay, Craigslist, Ukulele sites..... instruments become like pets and as such you need another when one passes from your hands from any kind of loss...... R/
