i'm one of those folks took up 'flatpicking' at home and on my own. Tried to do the Doc stuff like Billy in lowgrn'd and Blk Mtn. rag. Many, many years later i found I had done it all wrong ... u guys know, i;m sure, .... I used straight 'alternating picking' , with absolutely no attempt to get the ''Downs'' on the 1 and 3. It has been miserable, ever since, tryin' to get my right hand ' correct.'' At my age ? I'll probly be eatin' dirt before it gets right. Teachers ?? None around here. Jack Lawrence is in this area but doesn't seem to be advertising as a 'teacher,' Sad, he needs to pass it on, he's a master . ANYWAY <<< Long ago I hit on Beaumont Rag by Michael Aumen. I tried everything to get it worked out. I got pieces of it. When '' Banjo Ben' arrived on the internet, I queried him. At first he was all ' yea, cool "" ... then, nothing. Does anyone herein have any ideas on someone / anyone who has had the skill to tab out that Michael Aumen version of Black Mountain. I'm not asking folks, like Ben, to give me the work. I offer actual money !! Seriously. Between trying to rework my right hand and aging at light speed, it's a contest to see if I'll ever get that tune in hand before the reaper reeps !! Talking to myself on this one, apparently. Took the step of paying a fellow, on Facebook, who transcribes at $40 per minute of material. Lessons from Marcel will take you to him. Decent picker but, caveat, I was very unhappy with the results
