hi all ,i know there are other aussie pickers out there, lets get together and yarn.

a few lines about myself . im 45ish two young children , gabriel 4 1/2 years and deacon 3 months , ive been playing over twenty years  but only the last few years seriously  ,i love bluegrass and spend most of my time practicing bluegrass standards ,i pick by myself mostly its hard to find people who like to play the tunes i like .

i have a bluegrass radio show that airs on monday nights on my105fm and also streams on the web, its called,[funnily enough] "monday night bluegrass"

i love guitars and have a few my latest is a  martin 00016gt and will soon get me a hd 28 or 35  see what happens . by the way i am from mackay in qld .

where are you all from?

Hi, omdave! I'm a fingerstyle picker living in the southwest of WA near Albany. I'm 65, no ish about it. I played in folk groups in high school and then didn't play for close on 45 years. Took it back up about 2 years ago and am loving it and have advanced way past how I used to play when I was young. Seriously studying now and loving every minute. Have an old Seagull S6 dreadnought that I will sell soon, and a Voyage Air folding acoustic electric that's my main instrument. It's wonderful to play. Have just come down with NGF - new guitar fever and am eyeing off a PRS SE Angelus Custom Acoustic electric if I can scrounge up enough money. Bought my Nechville banjo by selling my gold jewelry! No regrets!! Nice to meet you here on the Hangout. Husband and I'll be going to the Music weekend at Beechworth, VIC in August. Any chance you're going? All the best, Maddie

Hi Gittargirl - I'm new to this group, although have been part of banjo hangout for years! I play both...but, I am in the process of moving to Albany and wondered if you are still there, still picking' and if there are any good bluegrass groups in Albany. Let me know if you've the time -
