Hey Gang,

Looks like yall do things alittle different here. We usually start a project with the session plan/shedule, musicians, engineer etc. already determined from the start. This seems like a fun way as well! Im runnin Adobe Audtion and use standard WAV files uploading from dropbox.com for quality and stabiltiy. We had alotta probs with Mp3's drifting, not syncing, and pitch issues, weird EQ inflections etc.Anyway,Ill be readin up here to see how you guys do things.Weve been collabin for about 3 yrs over on BHO so Im lookin fwd to pickin/recording some with you guys!

Planning ahead? That's a concept worth considering, I guess ... (LOL). Dropbox.com. That might be the solution for our file format issue. As far as I know, we can only upload MP3 to this site. I was thinking we might want to save Audacity files somewhere, so we could keep tracks separate until final mix. How many channels can you save in WAV?

	The KIDD says: 2/27/2011 12:52:22 PM Yeah, those PUP files in Audacity can only be used with those using Audacity. We learned real quick,all the pitfals of of doing this.File naming can get real confusing REAL quick.when theres mutliple parts from the same guy,and issues with using "Mixes" to add single tracks to.A few over on BHO have inquired how we do it. It would take too much text to explain here. PM me your E mail addy and I can tell what has worked best for us and using all seperate/exculsive allocated folders to keep the progress straight. Yeah, LOL, now these collabs Ill post dont have much flatpickin goin on .Some are old Rock/Fusion standards. Talk to ya soon.

Ive done this 4 different ways.There are different kinds of collabs depending on the goal ya have in mind.Some are about (the project) as a whole, others are about helpin a fellow picker add tracks to HIS project, some are about real collaboration where ideas about the whole structure are shared , then implimented by vote.With some , everybody will mix thier own session from all the single track, others ONE person will oversee the whole session doing all the part adding, then mixes are sent to get feedback from everyone.Just depends what ya wanna put into it vrs the quality and quantity ya wanna get out of it.Ill mail ya.
