I started this group because I am interested in finger picking guitar, as played by Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Stefan Grossman, Doc Watson (the finger picking side of him), Mississippi John Hurt, Rev. Gary Davies and so on. A goal for this group is that there shall be a n own forum for the finger style guitar, either a a separate hangout, or a forum in Flatpicker Hangout.

I know there was a poll some time ago if the name of FlatpickerHangout should be change, so other styles could be included. It was rejected by the flatpickers but, if I remember right, there was a big interest for including finger styles.

We finger pickers should join together and fight for the finger style guitar.

	Jim Yates says: 1/30/2011 9:55:12 AM I switch back and forth flat pick to finger style. I sometimes will accompany with a Carter Scratch (thumb-brush) and solo finger style. I can't seem to get the hang of the hybrid pick and fingers technique that Tele players seem to use.

I'll behave, though ... and enjoy reading and listening/viewing your posts.
