Gypsy Swing, Western Swing, Country Swing. From Django to Whit Smith - it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!

Here's a standard - but great - way to play a Dmin arpeggio in the gypsy jazz style. It's in a closed position so can be transposed easily:

_______7___________________
_5_7_8_____________________

I use the first, third, and fourth fingers (the three notes on the tenth fret all played with the fourth - far easier than it sounds). Using this fingering it's easy to play this run very fast indeed - especially using the gypsy picking style.
Why not incorporate it in your bluegrass improvisations when coming across a minor chord?!
There's a tremendous way of coming back down, too, which I'll post later.
Kind regards,
Derek
