I chose the three videos linked (at the time of writing) to demonstrate the breadth of playing encompassed by acoustic swing - from the masterful chord work (and tremendous lead playing and song writing) of Whit Smith, a great lesson from the pages of Flat picking Guitar Magazine that isn't too far removed from 'regular' flat-picking improvisation, through to one of the modern breed of gypsy jazzers - the simply unbelievable Joscho Stephan. I'd love to know what others think of this style of flatpicking.
