There's been an ongoing debate on the Flatpicker Hangout about whether the site should broaden its scope to include all acoustic guitar styles, or remain focused on flatpicking. After much thought, I've decided to keep the site "Flatpicker Hangout" while emphasizing that the site is open to any discussion involving playing the acoustic guitar with picks.
This may lead to discussions involving blues, jazz, pop, rock, and other forms of music--but I'm sure the heart and soul of the site will continue to center on the bluegrass music which the term "flatpicking" is often associated with. And that's fine with me, because I want to help perserve and further this style for future generations like Greg Kaiser in the video link just above.
