Bluegrass Bill |
Hi Folks, I retired at the end of 2010 after a wonderful career of 36 years as a Civil Engineer with NRCS, a federal agency part of USDA. My wife Dana and I will have been married 35 years January 28, 2013. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful children and 2 grandkids (so far!). My wife and I love the outdoors and traveling and have been to Alaska, Yellowstone and many other NP's in the Northwest. I love Retirement! We love spending time with our three kids and 2 grandkids. We love fly fishing, canoeing and photography.
My other passion these days is playing guitar and singing with Western Lights, the band I have been part of for about 20 years. Western Lights is a 5 piece band that loves to play Bluegrass, Western Swing, Country and a little of everything in-between. We have recorded 2 CD’s and have a 3rd in progress. My lead flatpicking talent is moderate at best but I get by with the great lead instruments we have in the band including fiddle, mandolin, banjo, dobro and steel guitar. I absolutely love playing rhythm guitar for our western swing music! The Band has had a really fun year in 2012 doing a number of events with the highlights being our third consecutive year to play at the Woodland Opera House and also playing at Harlow’s in Downtown Sacramento. Here are a couple samples of our western swing music, one from a live performance and the 2nd, from our 2008 CD, an original Bob Wills Tribute song we wrote.

That is probably enough for right now. Please take a look at our web page when you get a chance.!
