I have been play Ovation guitars for over 30 years. I recommend an Ovation guitar to most people who are starting out and want to be come serious players.
The first guitars were nice, but the wood on the top cracked a lot. They have fixed this problem.
Ovation has a line of gujitars made in Korea, but they also have hand made ones in the USA too.
For overall cost and performance, Ovataion is a great values.
They have slim buitars that feel like an electric. The action can be tuned to be very close they they can play almost like an eletric too.
