Hello...I'm new to Flatpicker hangout and just want to say howdy to all the folks who frequent this site. I enjoy collecting, playing and trading guitars. Mostly acoustic however occasionally i'll pick up an electric and play it for a while. Unless it's "Collectable" It's just a means to another acoustic.
It's hard to tell which guitar I like the best. They all seem to have their own attraction to me. I have a Martin d40 fw that I really enjoy however the sound, feel and the weight of my guild d30 is just as good if not better and gets played more often. I have a few Takamine "Lawsuit" models my absolute favorite is the 1972 f400s 12 string. I have played many 12 strings from Gibson to Taylor and everything in between and the Tak gets my vote for sound and comfort. Talk about a work horse.
My go to and mostly played guitar is a Harmony H1203 "The Western" I had the neck reset on that one and It is an awesome player. It's great for working out songs and I'm not worried about it getting banged around. I actually have come to appreciate the old Harmony's and have quite a collection of the Sovereign models.
That's it for this blog. Hope to hear from someone soon.
Best regards

Born on Long Island. In bands all thru high school. Put the Guitar down for a few years (Viet Nam). in the mid 70's traveled around with a 1950's rock 'n roll revival. Got to meet and play with some of the old time greats. Gave that up to start a family. Now in my retirement years God has Blessed me with the ability to Play, collect, and trade these beautiful instruments.
