JOHN PEARSE 980M STRINGS vs Tony Rice signature Martin strings

i purchased a set of john pearse 980m nickel wound bluegrass guitar strings, and they outlasted any other string i have tried. i have a martin hd-28, and after a few days, the brightness wore off a bit, and i really liked the tone that shone through after that. i just took them off and replaced them with the martin tony rice signature strings last night, and jury is out on them.
