I am a new member who has just signed up to Flatpicker hangout, and I am very happy to be part of this community.
I am a bluegrass player, first and foremost and I play the Irish bluegrass festival circuit with my tro, Bending the Strings, and I also have a gypsy jazz, swing, instrumental acoustic trio called Cabin Fever Acoustic String Band.
My guitars are, A Borgeois slope D Dreadnought which I use for most of my bluegrass platpicking and it is an absolutely cracker and I love it dearly, I also have a lovely Irish made Lowden 032 acoustic, made by George Lowden in Northern Ireland which I use for some of the Jazz/Swing tunes plus I use it for finger picking quite a lot.
I have an old Yamaha FG 300 Dreadnought which I bought in late '68 and it plays beautifully but having a Bourgeois means the old Yamaha does not get played as much as it should.
I also have 3 Fender telecasters from '68 to 2006, 4 Fender strats from '71 to 82, an Ibaneze Js Joe Satriani ltd edition super strat, a couple of squires, a Fender bass, a pair of banjos a mandolin and other bits and bobs.
I am a full time musician and my day job is running my own Recording studio, VeeBee Recording Studio, www.myspace.com/veebeestudio from my home, where most of my clients are from the Country music and Bluegrass genre but I also work with folk, rock and blues musicians.
I visit the USA as often as I can as I think of it as being the home of some of my favourite musicians and I visit Nasville at every oppertunity.
I look forward to making contact with fellow flatpickers on this site and I hope to share ideas with some fellow flatpickers.
