live recording @ Palomino Club - Greensboro, NC of 1/31/99. Warning to bluegrass purist: This was my Top 40 Country band (Midnight Highway). The lead vocalist and I came from Bluegrass. He also picked the banjo. We would always try to throw a little bluegrass into each show we played. The recording features drums, keyboards (in the background), electric bass, and me trying to flatpick a Telecaster. Ain't all that much to it....and mistakes can be heard. But, it was live....can't expect much from a bunch of rednecks!

Nice pickin' there, Steve. The banjo sounds interesting, too, sort of like a solid-body electric banjo.

thank you for your gracious comment. The picking wasn't meant to be heard by "sober people"--just drunks. But I figured I'd let all of yawl see how lucky you are to play acoustic music...hehe
Morris' banjo was a Gibson of some type (I don't remember a model number)...he had some type of "stick on" pick up that attached to the banjo head. It was pretty cheap I'd imagine so his rig did sound more electric than acoustic. JD Crowe wouldn't have used it, but it was OK for a bunch of drunks on a Friday and Saturday night.
Take care of yourself....and thanks again.
