Boy, how time flies..........lol. Been a while since I've been here but still working on guitar practice. Actually, I've improved and happy I have. "Skip to my Lou" I finally got it. Yay for me. Now working on "Polly Wolly Doodle" and "Go tell Aunt Rhody". Both are going much, much better than the first one. They use the same chords as "Skip to my Lou", so that's helpful for me. Also, thanks to my mentor and son, Mike, I have learned some new strumming exercises. I find these to be easy. Had to have new strings put on and while I was waiting, I found a new book for beginners. It's called "Acoustic Guitar Primer" for beginners. There are lots of songs and lots of exercises. Looks like a newbie will be able to move forward quite quickly. Been working on more chords, also. G, E, Em, D, C, A, and Am. Use them all with the new strumming exercises. :)

Newbie here. Just started learning to play the guitar in January of 2011. Still trying to get the first chords down. I'm a retired mother of 5 and grandmother of 5. My son, Michael, started me on this quest. LOL.
