Kevin Began his writing and singing career in the UK so long ago that the writer can't remember back that far, perhaps the late 1960s. Writing poetry, playing music and singing was something Kevin was brought up with, having a musical family. At the time Kevin played mostly Irish music in folk clubs Pubs and cafes and some studio work as a singer and fingertyle guitar player. He toured in the UK and Europe but soon began singing folk songs of the American west, having realized there was not much difference between these forms of folk and began seriously writing western ballads soon after. In the early 1080s he took off on foot and wandered around Europe and down into Turkey paying his way by sing and playing his songs. Surprised being asked to play in "The Pudding Shop" in Istanbul in return for a hotel room and dinner each day. The condition was that he only play western songs. Mostly they enjoyed a mixture of his own material and Don Williams. This extended his stay for there some time. In 1982 Kevin Moved to Alberta Canada and soon after bought a Ranch in central Alberta ran a cow calf operation for some 20 years. He quickly took up writing and recording songs and poetry with other musicians like Jeff Bardshaw and Billy Cowsill. Favorite project was to supply some of the music for the Classic Motorcycle Assc. DVD "The Bonneville Bullet" a DVD about speed motorcycle trials at the Bonneville salt flats. Since living in Canada Kevin has so far made two CD's of his songs (My Old blue Truck) and (Gravel Road) and is Working on a third acoustic collection of Cowboy ballads and battle songs. Kevin has written hundreds of songs over the years. He has co written with may others including Rick West and others in Nashville and others from the UK and Canada. One of his favorite co-writes is Common Working Man written with Barry Bowman. Kevin also writes poems in the old English style and poems for children. Kevin is known for the story telling in his lyrics. It has been said kind of in jest that his songs are more like three minuet Cowboy novels with tunes. His songs have been covered by bands from of course country through to irish folk interpretations (Sylvane of Norfolk England). Keep tuned for the songs on the current work. 'The Color of Latigo" is just one example.
