When I was 10 years old I found an old plywood archtop, scrolled headstock, trapeze tail pieced, Kay Guitar in the attic of the garage. It was almost as big as I was. I was not allowed to touch it as it did not belong to me. I would watch my older brother play his guitar. Then I would sneak out to the garage and try to apply what I had seen. The old Kay had brass frets, the strings were rusty and set far above the fretboard. Bought a new set of Black Diamond strings at the drugstore. Playing the Kay made green callouses on my finger tips. I learned fast and in time acquired a guitar of my own. We all had to start somewhere. I like Bluegrass, Mountain Music, American Ballads, Blues and Rock.
