Thanks for your post, slowhand [can I call you Eric?] I'm sure many think Norman wrote the song, and that's complimentary, since Blake is such a fine songwriter. He does generally credit me in performance...Norman is good about that. You can go to www.jerryfaires.com and see the actual gittar, [use the scroll bar to find all pages, look for the 'clip page'] which is still my workhorse, after all these years. I've done a few things to it, as you will see there, and more that you can't see in the photo...like the heel, carved in the manner of a Stuart banjo, and the Zuni and Anasazi turquoise pieces [shaped by them] used as markers in the edge if the fretboard. I have other and older guitars, Martins among 'em, and some newer...but the D-18 is, well...the D-18.
My version is only a little different from Norman's...we all phrase differently, to suit ourselves, and me, I'm a bit free about changing a word or phrase here and there. But heck, I don't discriminate...I do it to my own stuff, as well as to OPM [other people's material].
When some brave soul comes up to my off the grid, off the books, off the charts house and can show me how to input a photo on this site, I'll put up the D-18 and it's lead-boy....me.
Best to y'all and y'all's...Jerry Faires

I'm a rumor in my own barrio and international star of porch, parlor, and pub who's doing as well as can be expected for a strange old man in difficult times....
