Glad to be a part of this forum. I'll only be an occasional contributor, since I spend too much time on the computer...Hey! I should be picking. The profile picture is of an 1880's Martin that had a completely wrecked top and interior structure, the result of some wretched repair work done many years ago. My brother retopped it, bracing it to 1920's steel string standards. It's a great little box and even though I use it mostly for fingerstyle stuff,it flatpicks well .

Retired schoolteacher/librarian. I've spent years as an accompanist to folk and blues singers, playing in bluegrass bands and especially porgressive old-time bands. (Old -time material,but with solos and arrangements. Was a part of the New North Carolina Ramblers, Sweet Sunny South, and the Piney Forks Entertainers. Winner of many ribbons throughout the Southeast for folk song and dulcimer, including Galax and Mount Airy. I've also been the composer and music director for the Touring Theater of NC for the past ten years.
