My initial chops as a child was the lap steel which would mean country and Hawaiian genres. Branched into early rock and pop with the purchase of a Fender Strat leading to a "wedding band" to make some money for my education. As many of us did, set the instruments down to pursue a career and raise a family. After 35 years, decided to pick the "puppies" back up, and that was the best move ever. Even sing occasionally now although I'm not ready for American Idol yet. Enjoy flat picking immensely, but on occasion, feel the need to finger pick. I'm an old dog who is still seeking out new musical tricks.
