I have always been around the guitar since I was a baby as my Dad plays guitar. I never got serious about playing guitar until I was 10. My Dad fixed an old telecaster and that is when I wanted to learn the guitar. He taught me how to play "Tears in Heaven" by Eric Clapton, and I sat down and sorta mastered it in a couple of hours. Then he told me what the chords were. He continued to teach me the chords then I started learning by ear and listening to some songs trying to figure out the lead without reading any tab. I was then introduced to scales, and that made everything much clearer. He later gave the telecaster to me after he upgraded to a better guitar. I was introduced to bluegrass by some good friends of ours about 4 or 5 years ago, and I sold the telecaster along with an Epiphone Les Paul I had got for Christmas and saved up for a Martin D18. I then started researching flatpickers and learning their styles. I have been flatpicking ever since.
