Greetings everyone,
I'm delighted to join the Flatpicker hangout.
Many folks don't know this, but after 11 1/2 years, from March of 1989 to November of 2000, with "The Nashville Bluegrass" band as a mandolin player/singer, I left to pursue another career: "The Roland White Band." The band is in its eighth year of performing and had a Grammy nomination in 2003 for our CD "Jelly on My Tofu".
I have lately gone out with NBB on a couple of gigs to fill in when Mike couldn't make it, and I just got back from performing with them in MT Pleasant, South Carolina.
They had their CDs to sell, and I had mine, The Roland White Band's "Jelly On My Tofu" and various other recordings from the past. we talked to a lot of people at the record table.
Quite a few folks did not know that I had left NBB at all. Anyway, my aim is to spread the word, and this is one approach.
We are getting material together for another Roland White Band CD later this year.
We are also a few weeks away from going to the printer with a new Clarence White Guitar book that I think will be super. Be on the lookout for it.

I got to visit with Ralph Stanley yesterday. I hadn't seen him in a few years. He was looking good and sounded great for an 81 year old fella. Back in 1958 we/the Kentucky Colonels went to see a Bill Monroe Concert in Oceanside, California. Jack Cooke was then Bill's guitar player and singer. He's been with Ralph now for over 40 years, and it was great to visit with him in SC also.
Hope you all had a big weekend, I'm and hoping all our friends in Louisiana/Tsxas won't be hit so hard with predicted storms.
