I started playing folk music on the guitar back in the earlyd sixties, picked up the banjo when i heard John Hartford's "Gentle On My Mind". I began performing in coffeehouses and art festivals in the mid sixtites, traveling around in Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. In the early seventies, I dropped out for a few decades, then picked it up again about five or six years ago, doing pretty much the same music; songs and ballads in the coffeehouse tradition.. Most of what I do is by people I know/knew or people who know/knew people that I know. Many are dead, but their music lives on throught the events of their lives. That's what I do; sing the songs and tell the stories 'cause, as Townes wrote, Where ya been is good and gone, all you keep's the gettin' there."
